Reflection

I think i deserve a grade of a 3 or maybe 4. Although my work may not be perfect or completely finished, i do think that what i have is good enough to get me to my desired grade. I have my investigation criterion done. I have my graph put up. And what i wrote of the comparison between the two is spot on.So that is why i think that i deserve a good or average grade on this assignment for all my incredibly hard work i did including making time for this while still dealing and thinking about my other classes that i get 3 hours of homework on every night and i lose my social life over.

     ACCESSIBILITY
I gave Jing a rating of nine out of ten for accessibility because Jing is a very clean productive website that is very user friendly and this website is used to crop pictures and take screen shots and take screen shots of an article or video that you find. Because of all of these user friendly features, The school computer and any computer with website restrictions will allow you to enter this website. That is why i gave Jing such a high grade. I rated Youtube a 1 because it is a website that people use to post either entertaining videos with vulgar or informational videos that also sometimes contain vulgar. computers with restrictions at home as well as school would block you from going to this website due to fact that its not user friendly. That is why I gave Youtube a 1 rating.
     SIMPLICITY
I gave jing a 6 out of ten for simplicity because the way i saw it was way to complex for me, theres so many features that come with this site an they are all really different and its just hard to get use to. The only reason i gave it a mid to high grade was because it has an instructional video that i think i mentioned before but the video has in debt explanation on how to figure out how to do something if you forget how to and it re explains it and has features that with just one click, you can see how to do it again. I gave Youtube an 8 out of ten for simplicity because this website when i first went to it, i already knew how to use it. theres a search bar and videos to click on, its the easiest website I've been to the reason i didn't give it a solid ten is because when your trying to look for a video with a long name, it cant find the video sometimes and its kinda hard to find it otherwise.
     CREATIVITY
I gave jing a 4 out of ten for creativity because yes, the creativity is pretty good but i have seen another website with most of the same features but jing just kind of took it and made it their own. I gave youtube an 8 out of ten because they made their own format and their own features that i haven't seen in other websites and they are incredibly easy to use.
     THEME
I gave Jing an eight out of ten on Theme because the theme is real futuristic and high tech and cool with all the designs they have with pictures and stripped illusional cropping lines and the themes are all just really cool. I gave youtube a 3 out of ten because the theme wasn't really a theme at al. it was nothing.

Reflection

Today i decided I wanted to do a video. I went to Mrs. Hinojosa's page and clicked on Create AVideo Tools and i looked through the list and found the Jing Project. I found out with Jing that you can highlight sights like a little square on the screen and record and do voice overs and screen captures.
I had found a site right away that i really wanted to use but because of the schools restrictions i cant use it, the site was youtube. Youtube is one of the easiest sites of al time to use. its a very informative and fun site but like i said people abuse it and its not the safest site to use so i kept looking
So i decided to use jing because its really effective and easy to use once you download it and i think it would be one of the easiest for a 6th grader to use because it lets you multi task and it can handle everything you need in one, plus they would probably have fun screen shooting stuff and making voice overs and listening and watching them after.

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? The problem I need to solve is to explain to a 5th grader the design cycle.
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world? I’m sure that when people want to build any building, they go through the design cycle, even though they may not call it that.
3. How will this project serve my community? It will be explaining the design cycle, which in turn is useful in order to create anything.
4. How can my learning help my community? Whenever you learn anything in school, you are working towards going to college, which is contributing to your community, by making it a better place.
5. How do we live in relation to each other? By respecting each other
6. How does this help others? This project will help others (mainly 6th graders) in getting them to know how the design cycle works and how to be able to use it.
7. What are the requirements for this assignment? To be able to use the design cycle and to be able to explain it accurately and successfully.
8. What is the Design Cycle? The design cycle is the process used to create. It has 4 different steps- Investigate, Design, Plan, Create, and Evaluate.
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
REFLECT on your learning
EVALUATE:
20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
22. Share your presentation with at least 2-8th, 3-9th, 4-10th+ friends. What did he/she like about your presentation?
23. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
24. Were you responsible in using the software, Internet, pictures, and computer?
25. How can my learning help my community?
26. What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)

ATTITUDE:
27. Reflect on your attitude on each step of the Design Cycle. Did you completely answer each step without complaining, being a whiny baby, or saying "it's too hard". Explain your answer:
28. What grade do you deserve on your attitude? (1 - 6)
